Our journey so far

The Stapleford Centre (UK) is an independent Christian education charity, working across the UK, that supports, nurtures and shapes Christian engagement in education. Since its inception, the Stapleford Centre’s aim has always been to promote knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith, its place in our heritage and today’s society and to create a generation of teachers who are well-informed, well-equipped and have a passion for their job.

Building on networks established over the last 25 years, the Stapleford Centre has strong relationships with a range of Christian teaching and education organisations. These include EURECA (European Educators Christian Association); ACT (The Association of Christian Teachers); TISCA (The Independent Schools Christian Alliance); The National Institute for Christian Education and Research (Canterbury Christchurch University); The Centre for Christian Education (Liverpool Hope University); The Kuyers Institute, Grand Rapids, MI, USA; and the Christian Schools Trust. The Centre is part of the EA Forum for Change Education Cluster, and is also a member of the Religious Education Council for England and Wales.

In December 2011 the Stapleford Centre entered a new phase of its development, closing its office in Stapleford, bringing to an end a 25 year association with Nottingham. The Stapleford Centre is now a volunteer-led and run organisation. Continuing to work across the United Kingdom it will remain focussed on being a transforming Christian influence in education. This will be worked out through its relationship with other Christian education organisations and the resourcing of Christian teachers, the teaching of Christianity within RE and through The Stapleford Centre's contribution to the development of distinctive Christian thinking about education.

The trustees of The Stapleford Centre welcome those able to support the work of the Centre, either by giving, praying, serving as a trustee, or by volunteering to support the specialist areas of work the Centre is involved in. Please contact admin@stapleford-centre.org for information.
