Exploring the relationship between distinctive Christian education and building a cohesive society.
Our 2009 conference was privileged to welcome two excellent plenary speakers, Paul Woolley and Revd Jeff Astley, who helped us explore these issues in relation to education from complementary perspectives.
The following is a selection of free resources and downloads, made available from this conference.
Paul Woolley has a background in theology and politics and is a regular conference and media commentator. In addition to working as a Parliamentary Researcher and a Director of a political unit, he has extensive public affairs experience in the charity sector.
Paul’s current research interests include social cohesion in a pluralist society and the role of government. Paul is engaged in post-graduate study at the University of St Andrews. He is married to Ruth and lives in Central London.
Director of the North of England Institute for Christian Education, honorary Professorial Fellow in Practical Theology and Christian Education, University of Durham.
Jeff was appointed as Founding Director of the Institute in 1981; he previously worked in Anglican parish ministry, University chaplaincy and higher education. He has taught and supervised research in both the Department of Theology and Religion and the School of Education of the University of Durham since 1981. He is the author or editor of thirty books on Christian education, practical theology or religious faith.
Elizabeth Green and Alan Flintham will join us as seminar speakers.
