Come and Rest 2
Sat 2nd Oct 2010

Come and Rest 2

Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31

Come and Rest recognises the need for those working in our busy schools to have time apart to rest and reflect and so offers the opportunity to spend time away from the pressures and busyness. It aims to gives those attending the space in which to explore their relationship with God, and how this relates to their experience in schools.

Through a combination of led meditations and personal space, Come and Rest will renew your vision and sense of purpose and remind you of your place as a loved child of God. It will offer opportunities to explore how your personal faith can be integrated with your vocation to teach or work with children.

Ideal for those who have never been on a quiet day before and for those with more experience.

Schools for the 21st Century?

Schools for the 21st Century?

Dr Elizabeth Green will present her research into the impact of Christian ethos on student culture at Emmanuel City Technology College. The Emmanuel Schools Foundation (ESF) sponsors a CTC and three Academies in the North East of England. This research was the first to be carried out at an ESF school and Elizabeth’s analysis offers an important critique of the interaction between enterprise, business and faith in the new Academies. Designed to be a jumping off point for discussion, this presentation will be a very practical introduction to the issues facing policy makers, education practitioners, parents and pupils.
