PLENARY SPEAKERS
Paul Woolley: Director of Theos
Paul Woolley has a background in theology and politics and is a regular conference and media
commentator. In addition to working as a Parliamentary Researcher and a Director of a political
unit, he has extensive public affairs experience in the charity sector.
Paul’s current research interests include social cohesion in a pluralist society and the moral
dimension of the State.
Revd Jeff Astley: Honorary Professorial Fellow in Practical Theology and Christian Education, University of Durham
Jeff Astley is Founding Director of the North of England Institute for Christian Education (NEICE).
He previously worked in parish ministry, university chaplaincy and higher education. He has taught
at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the University of Durham since 1981. He is the author
or editor of thirty books on Christian education, practical theology or religious faith.

The programme starts on Friday 2 January and ends on Sunday 4 January. It will include plenary sessions, group discussions, times of worship and free time for relaxation or informal networking.
